So what's this Red Velvet Cake all about anyway?

So loving your kids and your mate, is not only about writing love letters and love notes, it's also about feeding them and not only the healthy stuff. Sometimes, it's great to break out and just indulge in a great dessert. And the hottest dessert on the runways these days, seems to be this Red Velvet Cake. Family Day Article Featured in the Letter to the Editor in tomorrow's Ottawa Citizen!

What did you do on Family Day? I have to admit for the most programmed mom on this side of the Atlantic, we really just chilled and just relaxed. It was fabulous! We read, caught up on homework and BOOK REPORTS! (Heaven help me). We made chocolate chip cookies and some of my friends know all about those! We watched the movie Grease together with Olivia Newton John and John Travolta-ever notice how both of their names have John in them? It was great. It was a chill day. So check out the Ottawa Citizen for my Letter to the Editor on Family Day. Essentially, what I say is that if fifty is the new forty, and brown is the new black, then maybe Family Day is the new Sunday!

Kindness to someone else, really is the same thing as Kindness to Yourself-Watch the Power of Kindness on Steven and Chris on CBC

One of my favorite things that the Dalai Lama says is "if possible, you should help others. If that is not possible, at least you should no harm."
Love that. Love that sentiment. And it is so true. Also I love the boomerang effect of kindness, and the knowledge that kindness begets even more kindness. Some say the value of Honesty is more important than Kindness. I disagree. I think that kindness goes a long way. It is gentle, it's loving, it makes people feel good and it really does warm your heart. Also kindness to someone else is really the same thing as Kindness towards yourself.
