I Love Talent!!!How to Tap into the Talent in your Child!

Today a very talented television reporter interviewed me for her Pregnancy TV show and it was a total delight. Earlier today, I saw an on-air broadcaster I have worked with who is excellent at what she does. And I thought to myself, I really love and admire talent and the hard work that goes along with it. Last night at our school curriculum night, a wonderful teacher talked about how children are like chandeliers-all of their lights burn brightly and other bulbs flicker or are dimmer, because each child's light gets illuminated in different ways, some are book smart, math smart, kinetic smart and so on. But it is so important as parents for us to notice what it is that triggers excitement and passion in our children and then give them a chance to express that so they can find their own excellence and their own special light.

Celebrity Press Kits

I wanted to send my book "Love Mommy: Writing Love Letters To Your Baby" to a lot of Hollywood Celeb moms, so I went to the post office the other day to send off the book, with a matching journal and press kit, and I think the post office worker got a real kick out of who I was sending the book too. She just loved helping me prepare the U.S. labels, even though she pretended she was totally bored about the whole thing. She kept saying in a really loud voice, "Okay, who's next? Oh yeah, we got JULIA ROBERTS and DANNY MODER here, yup, Roberts is next. Let's stamp that one to Beverly Hills, California." It was so funny. She just loved it! Every so often her eyebrow would raise over a name, I think Tom Cruise and maybe Celine actually made her light up a little, only she wasn't going to show it. No way. She was too cool for that. Now I will admit, that I was enjoying writing out the labels too. I mean how many times do you send mail to Angelina, Julia, Brooke, and Gwyneth all in one day. So I have to admit, both the postal worker and I were enjoying reading out the names for verification. But anyway, it was a lot of fun and it's kind of cool to just think that some of these celebrities will be reading my book, and maybe writing Apple and Hazel and Phineas and Shiloh letters too!
