HOW CAN WE SLOW DOWN AS MOMS?
How many of you feel like you're racing against the clock, on a treadmill with activities and programming? I would love to hear how you slow down? Do you do yoga, or meditation, breathing exercises or some form of activity (there's that word again!) to slow down the pace? What do have your kids do to slow down their pace, and just relax? And what about suggestions that don't involve TV or video, computers or some kind of technology? Would love to hear from you.
LOVE MOMMY
P.S. Check out my latest book Love Mommy; Writing Love Letters to Your Baby, published by ECW Press, available in all major bookstores and on Amazon Books. com and Amazon Books.ca.
Have a great weekend!!!!!

Just take a deep breath and slow down. Everything can wait and you are setting a great example for your kids by letting them know that they need to stop and smell the roses and not always be planting in the garden.
I totally agree. We are all so busy with playdates and sports and dance and email and cell phones etc etc. to get some down time. I think we need to book time with our spouse for dates and get aways whenever possible. I also like to get a massage or take a nice long bath after the kids are asleep.
I found I was having trouble finding time to read novels. We now have a routine where we all cuddle up in my bed and everyone brings their own book. We snuggle up close and we all read our own books together. If someone doesn't feel like reading, they can bring a crossword puzzle or sudoku or other quiet time activity. We all look forward to this special time. The kids have learned that they can have a great time when they are quiet too.
